“Detecon Al Saudia (Detasad) stands for more than 30-years of successful Saudi-German cooperation and underlines our solid commitment towards long-term telecommunication operations including trusted delivery of country-wide managed ICT Services as well as implementing modern state of the art communication infrastructure."
Detecon Al Saudia is a joint venture between Saudi FAL and German Detecon International, which started business operations 1982 - 30 years ago, in Riyadh. Being a member of Deutsche Telekom Group, Detasad’s primary business focus is providing managed telecommunication and IT infrastructure services. This includes a full-fledged operation and maintenance service portfolio for fiber optical, copper, microwave, satellite and GSM networks.
With the solid experience of 30 years responsibility over more than 22.000 km fiber optical network, Detasad is considered to be the de facto standard when it comes to telecommunication infrastructures. Featuring a workforce of 1.500+ highly skilled employees, who are distributed over 28 technical support centers, Detasad is able to provide a unique service delivery to its customers in Saudi Arabia. The scope of this delivery covers the full range from quality engineering, fast spare part logistics plus rolling out complete telecommunication infrastructures.
Since the end of 2003 Detasad operates as a fully CITC (www.citc.gov.sa) licensed VSAT service provider in Saudi Arabia. Additional CITC issued licenses include ISP (Internet Service Provider), DCHSP (Data Communication Hotel Service Provider) and DCSP (Data Center Service Provider). Detasad operates a fast growing VSAT network of 3.800+ concurrent satellite nodes from their VSAT HUB in Saudi Arabia. It is the first company to provide satellite services on a real geo-redundant VSAT HUB based upon a TierIII+ certified datacenter facility for highest availability. Detasad’s datacenter is the first one in Saudi Arabia as well as the Middle East region to be awarded with the prestigious German TUVIT “Trusted Site Infrastructure Level 3 Extended” certificate.
To underline the commitment to technical innovation, Detasad together with EXA Information Technology have launched in November 2011 Saudi Arabia’s first full featured and automated Cloud Computing Platform (www.cloudex.sa) offering a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) and IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a Service) service portfolio. Cloud setups can be configured to run in an economic public or a more secure private cloud environment. Ready-made VPS nodes, including operating system and applications, can be deployed upon demand within minutes; additionally computing resources such as CPUs, RAM and SAN storage will be dynamically allocated matching the current demand of any running application.
